Holy Child Parish – Makato, Aklan, Philippines


The Holy Child Parish is a church located in Barangay Poblacion in the municipality of Makato, Aklan, Philippines. The church is located inside the town’s complex where you can also find Makato’s municipal hall, hospital, sports complex, and other government services and buildings.

The church and the town of Makato, celebrate annually the Ati-atihan in honor of the Santo Niño (Holy Child or Infant Jesus). Makato celebrates its own Ati-atihan festival one week ahead of the main festival in Kalibo.

The Holy Child Parish has a beautiful stone bricks facade with an image of the Santo Niño at the top. The church also has a park which features beautiful statues of saints, as well images of the Stations of the Cross which people visit especially during the Holy Week.
